District Governor Linda is a native of Virginia, where she became a Lion in 2004. She has held many offices throughout her Lions service, including Club President, Club Secretary, Club Treasurer and Global Membership Team Coordinator. In 2015, DG Linda and her husband, PDG Jimmy relocated to Florida, where they transferred their membership to the Hudson Bayonet Point Lions Club. She has served the Florida Lions as a Club President, Club Secretary, Zone Chair for two administrations and the Global Leadership Team Coordinator. DG Linda is a Melvin Jones Fellow. She has also been recognized with two International President’s Leadership Medals and several International President’s Certificates of Appreciation. She has also been honored by being named Lion of the Year three times. DG Linda and PDG Jimmy have a blended family of five children, twelve grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of John Geary, Past District Governor of District 35-I.
PDG John Geary served as District Governor during the 2016–2017 Lions year, representing the Ellenton Parrish Lions Club and later the Lake Placid Lions Club. His fellow Council members during that term were Lion Larry Masters (35-L), Lion Steve Hilaire (35-O), and PCC Luis Olarte (35-N). The Council Chair was Lion Larry Masters.
PDG Geary was preceded in death by his wife, Lion Gloria Geary, on December 5, 2025.
Arrangements are pending and are being handled through Minor Funeral and Cremation Center,

Feed My Starving Children – MobilePack™ Southwest Florida is aiming to pack 1 million meals across six sites in 2026, providing life-saving nutrition to children in need. Through these packing events, more than 2,739 children can be fed for an entire year. Lions and community members are encouraged to volunteer individually, with their clubs, or alongside family and friends.
